Dreaming of warmer weather

We've had a week of wet weather and last week Glasgow was brought to a stand still after a blizzard. Although it doesn't seem that Spring is getting any closer for my readers in America, rest assured that it is coming! Meanwhile, in my neck of the woods there's temperatures in the mid thirties (that's Celsius) forecast for next week, so I'm dreaming of buying some cheap skirts and t-shirts from FashionMia and wearing them with some handmade pom pom earrings. Regardless of the season, you can't go wrong with a denim skirt and this asymmetrical number from FashionMia features a raw, frayed hemline. You can easily pair this with a turtleneck, boots, beanie and shoulder bag to rug up, or a silk camisole top and sandals for Spring. I'm pretty sure it has pockets too as an added bonus!

You guys should know by now that I love velvet nearly as much as George Costanza and a velvet midi skirt is another wardrobe staple you can easily dress up or dress down. When it gets really cold I love wearing leggings underneath a long skirt like this, but a pair of knee high boots would be keep you just as warm. One of my favourite things about this piece is the bow ribbon on the side.

It's never too early (or too late) to update your swimwear and FashionMia have hundreds of cute bikinis, one piece swimsuits and long sleeve rashies for the sun smart swimmer. There's just about every style and colour combination imaginable in stock on their website, and the best thing is that it's all cheap swimwear. I recommend buying a few bikinis so you can mix and match (which is what I inevitably end up doing!) for even more colourful and fun combinations. I've just discovered high-waisted bikini bottoms, and my goodness they are so comfy (and suitable for doing laps at the pool!) Generally, I like having a few neutral pairs of bikini bottoms and tops to throw into the mix.

Depending on how adventurous you are, many swimsuits feature striking cut-out designs, like this amazing floral bikini. One thing you have to watch out for though is applying sunblock every two hours (or else you might end up with some very interesting tan lines!). Anyone else looking forward to some warmer weather or planning a holiday to the coast? Let me know!
