Do something good
Wearing: Thrifted red velvet dress, POMS fluffy earrings and Dr Martens boots.
Today kicks off National Op Shop Week for 2017! What's an op shop I hear you say? If you're reading from perhaps the States, Great Britain or anywhere else outside of Australia it's an abbreviation for an 'opportunity shop'. A charity shop or thrift store if you like, run by the likes of the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul's or other great organisations, run by volunteers who generously donate their time to pick through donations and run the shop, raising money for their cause. Like me, more Australians are choosing to buy ethically and recycling through getting quality secondhand clothing at charity stores. But they need good quality donations to keep going! If you have a bag of clothes you've been meaning to donate, please do it this week! The aim of National Op Shop Week is to boost the amount of donations, running from 27th August and ending on the 2md of September.
