Stay Alert

The best things in life are free- and that’s certainly the case when it comes to Internet security. While I do most of my blogging and correspondence from my laptop, it’s also important to ensure that your phone is just as well protected as any other device. These days internet banking and accessing Paypal from mobile devices is quite common, with some banks developing tap and go payment through mobile phones. But how do you know for sure that you have the best antivirus app? They all look so similar and it’s hard to know if they all offer the same amount of protection.
With over 4 million 5 star reviews in the Google Play store, the AVG Antivirus app offers a superior level of protection from malware, spyware, scamware, harmful viruses text messages with a user friendly interface. One of my favourite features is the Anti-Theft Phone Tracker- and you don’t have to sign up to AVG Antivirus pro to use this feature. From another device, you can locate and tack where your lost phone is using Google Maps, and remotely lock it. You can also remotely wipe your private data, and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. A bit like personal health, it’s far better to be proactive rather than reactive– there’s nothing worse than realising that someone has taken funds out of your bank account or worse accessed personal information. While many banks are willing to work with account holders and in many cases can retrieve those funds, not everyone can financially recover from theft. More than the economic costs, theft and spyware can take a huge toll on you psychologically with the event leaving many feeling violated, which can lead to anxiety.

If you have antivrus software on your computer, why not do the same for your phone or tablet? Whether you’re Microsoft, Apple or Google have got you covered, offering many free services to protect all your digital devices.
