Tulle triumphs

Tulle has never been more fashionable. The British Fashion Awards have come and gone, and within the emerging talent and womenswear designer categories there’s a clear trend between those two winners. Both Molly Goddard and Simone Rocha have impressed the establishment comprised of fashion editors and their teams, but also bloggers and everyone in between with their frothy, pastel designs (which are often subverted by the themes which occur within their respective presentations and runway shows). More and more people are beginning to celebrate buying a few select pieces and treasuring them for many years, rather than chasing the dragon and inadvertently playing into the hands of fast fashion and unethical practices. One can only imagine how many hours it would take to embellish a dress in a miniature field of flowers, or create the smocked effect as Goddard does.
